So I am looking to get a setup to play Crysis 2, Skyrim (with plenty of mods) , Battlefield 3, and more. I know all the parts I want but I'm stuck on the GPU, I don't know whether to get the Radeon HD 7950 3GB, or the GTX 660 Ti. If someone could tell me which would go better with this setup/ run the games I listed better, or another one that is better that is in the price range of about $300, I would be very grateful. Here is the setup:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor $214.97 Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard $129.99
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $41.99
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $79.99
Graphics Card: GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card/Radeon HD 7950 ~ $300
Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 ATX Mid Tower Case $109.99
Power Supply: Corsair Gaming 700W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply $93.84
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer $17.99
Monitor: Asus VS228H-P 21.5" Monitor (1920 x 1080) $134.00
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit) $99.99
ROCCAT ISKU Wired Gaming Keyboard $69.99
Logitech G35 $100.00
Total: $1375.48 (After rebates and discounts)
The 7950 is more powerful, the NVidia equivalent to it is the GTX 670.
7950, it's better than the 660ti at stock settings and it can overclock really well.
I believe the 7950 is more powerful. However you get more solid drivers, PhysX and CUDA (CUDA is probaly a bit useless to you).
I'm not even sure if Battlefield 3 uses PhysX.
Why the expensive motherboard? This one should do fine

Are you going to overclock, because if not you should get a H61/67.
Edit: Also why buy Windows 7? Especially when windows 8 is much cheaper. If it is because you dislike the start menu, you can disable that and get one that looks like the windows 7 one.

That motherboard really isn't that expensive... I bought a sabertooth z77 for $200. Plus more expensive motherboards usually add more features like fan headers, more ports, better power phasing, etc.
Which is why I asked why he wanted that, if he doesn't need any of those extra features, he might as well get a cheaper motherboard. Save where you can.

He is already getting a i5-3570K so might as well get a Z77 board as in-case he does want to overclock he can. If wasn't getting an unlocked cpu then yes that board will be fine
