• Questions about my PC build?

Hello everyone, so a while back I had posted here for help on building a computer for programming, and video editing and stuff like that. Overall, I decided going with the build Flayne had helped me with (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2bqzg). Basically, this is my first build from scratch. I've done small upgrades here and there, and I've put a computer together with the help of a teacher a while back. But I have some questions. 1. Do I need a sound card? I was watching a video on building a computer, and the guy had a sound card (something I do not have). Does the mobo have built in sound or something? 2. Do I need thermal paste? Also on this video, this guy put his own thermal paste on. Do I need to do that? Those are the only questions I have so far, and I've decided to take them to this forum for some help. Any and all answers help. Thanks in advance.
1. No, the motherboard provides on board sound. Sound cards will give more audio quality, but that's not something you're going to notice unless you have really sensitive ears. 2. No, but it does help cooling performance and they all hover around $6 in price. This is about the best product you can get: http://www.amazon.com/Innovation-Cooling-Diamond-Thermal-Compound/dp/B0042IEVD8 Here's a revised build taking into account present prices and the fact that the GT 610 will do the same job of rendering the desktop, but it's a bit cheaper. I also managed to throw in a CPU upgrade. Thank you for that, but I already have all of the parts. I should have mentioned that in the OP.
Oh, well then I just suggest you go ahead and build it. You can order the IC Diamond and wait, but I don't really think it would be worth it.
Okay, thanks, yet again! :v:
Don't get Turtle Beach. They're definitely not built to last. I know this out of experience, I had a pair of $60 that lasted maybe 4 months before it decided to break. (whats worse is that im still using them)
I've had my X12's for about a year and a half, maybe more now, and they still work like a charm. That's the reason I decided to go with them again.
