I just called Gamestop to see how much Halo 4 would be to sell to them. They told me 4 bucks and I asked for the store credit and they said that's what it is, 4 bucks. This is bullshit. Are they really like this? I haven't traded in games for 2 years now. 4 bucks for a game that hasn't been out for a year?
If you wanna sell a game it'd be best to sell it directly to someone else. Gamestop won't give you anything unless you get lucky and qualify for some trade-in offer.

Trade in prices are usually stupidly low. I always have people giving me the "are you serious?" look when I tell them that we will give them £9 store credit for Black Ops 2, then we sell their traded in copy for about £23-25.
You do realize pre-owned games are the major profit source for Gamestop? New games have a tiny profit margin for games retailers so pre-owned is where their big bucks roll in. If you want good money for it, put it on craigslist or something.

I just called my local business game store that is like gamestop and they offered me 15 for in store half for cash. I told them what Gamestop offered me and they laughed and said yeah come here they suck.
My suggestion is to trade it with a friend/give them to someone, noone ever seems to pay any money for old games anymore. I ended up giving most of my Wii games to my little cousins since gamestahp was gonna give me like 2 bucks for them. They were decent games too, so my cousins were happy. I miss this one family-owned game store that was by my house about 12 years ago, they had some cool stuff in there but gamestahp ran them out of business. Sad.
I got 75 cents each for like 3 different games that were all limited editions. I was getting rid of everything at the point(even the console) so I didn't care.
Went to sell an unopened game. They only take used games. Go into parking lot, rip off plastic covering, and go back in. "We'll give you $1 for it"
