• How the fuck is an insurance waiver written?

There's a 2 day festival coming up, and I'm going to be juggling fire at it, but the owner of the venue needs my mom to sign an insurance waiver. We have no problem with it, but we don't exactly know HOW to write it. Can it just be written like this:
I, name here, agree to waive all liability from David Harvey in the event of any damages made by mynamehere Signaturehere
? Or does it have to be written a specific way?
ask the owner of the venue for one.
I just finished talking to him, he said that we would need to write it.
that's ridiculous. he's the one offering you some form of insurance to you, he should be providing you with the necessary paperwork to turn it down.
I have no idea, but perhaps this can come in helpful. I'm not going to argue with him, I'm lucky that he's letting me do the fire at all waiver or not. He runs two stores there and was pretty busy. I just want to get it written, signed, and back to him.
Not really, I know what it IS, just not how to write it. [editline]09:55PM[/editline] Also, I think I used the wrong word. I think I need to sign a liability waiver, not insurance. Basically it just needs to make it so that if I catch some shit on fire, I'm responsible and not him.
also signing an insurance waiver is not the most intelligent of things to do with something like this. sure, if you set a table on fire, you're out a bit of cash, it's not a big issue. if you give someone burns and they decide to get litigious, you'll be liable for the money, since you won't have any insurance cover
I knew I'd have to sign one before I talked to him, I've been doing this for 3 years, and I'm going to have a line drawn and make sure nobody passes it.
