• Time Machine Issues

My TimeMachine Keeps saying 63GB to back up when i haven't really added that much data.... Also when i do try the back up, it will go up in kb and sometimes just stop at 6kb... Help Please!! :D [editline]03:29PM[/editline] The Back Up drive is a WD My Book Elite

I'm gonna be honest here, I saw time machine and thought he meant time machine, you know what I mean

Go into Time Machine prefs (Look in System Prefs) and exclude areas to back up, such as your downloads folder and certain "videos", etc.
Thanks, will do , but is there any explanation as to why 60g needs to back up when i haven't made 60gs worth of data? And the slow transfer rate..... it goes up in KB!!!!!
Maybe you're reading the total used space of the HDD, where it's done the initial backup and all the incremental backups since then? Basically, 40gb worth of data for the initial backup and 20gb worth of changes since you started using Time Machine on that HDD. If the transfer rate is slow, see if it's isolated to that drive or if it appears to be a hardware issue. If you think it's the latter, perform a [url=http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964]SMC Reset[/url].
