Wow, actually looks really good.
I mean for a game as old as Deus Ex it looked pretty good to begin with, this just takes it over the top really.
oh yes
Well shit that's awesome. I thought it was a totaly different mod at first.
Also HDTP is now in beta testing after an eternity of developement and that mod has all the characters, props and weapons remodelled, retextured and re-animated.

Oh shit, link? Also is it an open or closed beta?
Nevermind, found it.

Holy fuck I can't fucking wait.
I asked for this.
I was looking for a reason to replay this
GOTY all years
I just finished Deus Ex yesterday (first time playing and it was a brilliant game) and discovered HDTP had a beta release right after, and now this. :v:
Oh well, ancient-ass graphics have their own appeal anyway, they're almost an artstyle to me. Still, those signs in Hong Kong are beautiful...
I am playing through DX right now, using lots of graphical mods. Like DX10 launcher and HDTP
Can never bring myself to install graphical enhancement mods, as I am too fond of how the game looks in its vanilla state. Nostalgia.
I'd suggest everyone that uses the steam version or the latest patch to use this mod.

When they were packaging the maps for the last patch, they fucked up and put old maps into the patch, thus some of the maps have bugs in them.
This patch fixes these bugs:
-Absence of music when entering Hell’s Kitchen a third time.
-Absence of the emergency hatch in the elevator facing the Queen’s Tower (See screenshots).
-Poor lightings with low contrasts in a few maps.
-The ability to kill MJ12 soldiers with a secret gas valve in Hong Kong heliport (Buggy in the 1.112 GotY Edition).
-Other minor bugs
I'm pretty sure this already includes it plus more

To be honest I agree, I personally don't play with it - I like playing games how the original developers created them. That said, I did try and create a different look with New Vision since the original game was very clean looking, which didn't fit in with the dystopic setting - hopefully New Vision isn't a straight-up replacement and has some mileage alongside the original art content.

From what I understand, it's because some of the newer maps had bugs, so they reverted to older ones for the final (1112fm) patch. Of course, they also reverted the bug fixes in the newer maps so it was counter productive.
In New Vision I included the newer maps for Hell's Kitchen, the Hong Kong street with Queen's Tower, and the MJ12 Helibase - so those very specific bugs are fixed already.
I played the game with New Vision early this year already. What exactly has been changed/improved compared to version 1.0? I can't seem to find a changelog anywhere on the Internet for this.

Is there anyway to use this alongside Shifter? I got it somewhat working, but the new character models won't work.
Unatco better issue some hardware.

Sadly no. It replaces DeusEx.u and the models are toggleable in options menu. I'd like them being replacements rather than on/off
