Or a Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition

I mainly play WoW, and im trying to build a computer that can run it flawlessly. According to this website, http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,693737/WoW-Wrath-of-the-Lich-King-CPU-benchmarks-with-Phenom-II-and-Core-i5/Practice/, both of these processors are near identical in performance with the game.
So which processor do you think i should get? And also, can you recommend a good motherboard with a PCI-E Slot on it? And also, am i going to have to replace my ddr2 ram?
Thanks.
i5.

As for the ram, this board only supports ddr3.
Yeah what Eight Bit said, The i5 is niiiiice.
I looked into the i5 platform but was a little disappointed. Lack of triple-channel and only mediocre sets of features felt like such a loss even with the cost savings.
The X58 chipset may cost a bit more, but it certainly seems worthwhile to me.
Its not that much of an improvement if you are just gaming, but if you render stuff then it is worth it

1366 is going to pretty much become a developer/enthusiast board and 1156 is going to become a consumer/high gaming board (but lower than enthusiast). So far the 980X or whatever the new i9 series is, will be released on 1366.
That thing is going to be like $999

Great argument there. Care to expand?
EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm aware of the i5, I just figured he'd want to know why you called him what you did.

Well the the one less channel of ddr3 has almost no performance hit. But he just said the rest wasn't appealing so I don't know what else to explain other than the i5 have just as good performance as the i7.
Wasn't really talking about performance, I was looking at features. My initial glance at i5/i7 motherboards just gave me the impression that you have to give up some key features like triple-channel and that SLI/Crossfire support is crippled (IE. x16, x4 bandwidth in Crossfire).
I've had another look and I do see some nicer boards from ASUS that still have some of the features I want but are affordable in the i5 chipset. Even EVGA has some decent budget offerings.

you won't notice any difference between double and triple channel and it's 8x/8x which no card maxes anyway
