MSI P55-GD80
GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD3R
You wont get any (if at all) fps(games) boost by overclocking, except maybe L4d/l4d2.and thats a meager5-20 fps at most.
Depends on if you'd want turbo boost enabled, you'd have to lower the target for your overclock if so.
i7 860/870 : You'd have to lower memory multi/timings to the lowest, before doing the following. Then adjusting it back up.
i5 750 : enable manual oc, turn off Eist, C-state,POwer saving, your max memory multiplier will be 10,which will be tied to your bclock (e.g 133mhz)
1.)add 10mhz to 133mhz, save in bios, reboot, do your stability tests.
2.)repeat, till stability tests fails.
3.)boot from the failed settings, this time add in some vcore, stability test again.
My General consensus :
<60celcius at load
<3.7ghz = good air cooler, i'd get w/c'ed if it hits more than that, as you'd not want your proc running at 75-80 degrees celcius, which will lower the lifespan.
Ive got hard copies to every i5 clockin guide if ya want =DId link you
yeah hard copy would be nice, im going to be going with the MSI p55 GD-80.. has a handy OC Genie push button the does automatic overclocking.. with a + and - push buttons to increase or reduce voltage lvls.. should put my i5-750 to a good stable 4ghz
here is an oc guide http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/605848-i5-i7-lga-1156-overclocking-guide.html
OC genie is shit

Your forums? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's Garry's forums.
I'd trust a Gigabyte mobo to do better in OC than MSI.

same, but I hear the GD-80/GD-65 can fare pretty well against other boards....
