This just doesn't sit right with me. All this backlash to terrible business practices, and the use of buzz-words is now having some negative effects. Just because shitty company A rips off customers with overpriced, underdeveloped DLC, some companies give your monies worth, and they still get to earn money that they deserve. I want to support the developers I respect but now everything is black and white. Hell, the Prepare To Die additional content in Dark Souls is great, like really worth your money!

The only reason they made AotA is because of the PC port.

But it is more the general sentiment I am trying to get across, like when companies jump on the bandwagon for a moral victory. Wrong place, wrong time I guess.
It's true, From said this same nonsense about Dark Souls. I don't trust anything from them unless it's by way of Orange Sign Soapstone.
i dunno man id say you do support a company if you shell out 50-60$ for a game of theirs hell 10$ is supporting them, i dont see why them not wanting DLC is a bad thing?? its pretty good considering like 10 years ago DLC's were unheard of and we got basically bigass expansion packs instead

Yes, but I like to further support the companies, and revenue is a good source of motivation for companies, and it goes to show as DKSII is looking better than ever.

Seems they are trying to avoid rushing DSII's development and complete everything before release.
If they design the game as a fully-rounded experience, I don't think it's wise to force them to do DLC/expansion sets from a creative perspective. Be it because of feature creep, power creep, engine limitations, core mechanic limitations or narrative contrivances necessary to find a place for the DLC within the already established tension curve. Extra chapters with self-contained tension curves that aren't referenced in the main story due to their optional nature may also feel out of place and distracting regardless of actual quality. Think positive, if Dark Souls II does well, you'll get a fresh Dark Souls III with fully realized DLC ideas a few months earlier.

My stance on DLC doesn't really apply to based FromSoft.
Well with a plan like this they'd better hope they don't leave people wanting more. It might be a bold move but there's still the chance that people will want more levels, bosses, weapons etc.
I don't understand how the lack of DLC is a problem at all.
I remember when I first got Dark Souls on the PC I played through the game three times before realizing there was DLC.
I'm happy with this. You can argue weather or not DLC is good or bad but at least they're not doing it for the right reasons.
Can we have expansion packs though? Remember those? From the days before DLC every game?
While I'm still mildly concerned about their outright refusal to create any future DLC, I suppose we should all wait for the game before we judge whether DLC is needed or not.
It's ridiculous to complain about the lack of additional content for a game that isn't even out yet. What's wrong with a developer putting everything they had planned for the game into the original product?
