Howdy! I'm looking for someone to recommend me a good set of speakers. I'm looking for a set with a good dynamic range as I listen to a good bit of metal, trap and house music. I can probibly only go with a standard 2 bar pile, I'm working with standard desk space, (a speaker each side of the monitor) so I haven't got anywhere I could put a third speaker really if it matters on it's position.

JBL LSR305's, best active monitors on a decently sized budget. (What is a 2-bar pile?)
Klipsch Promedia 2.1
Yeah a budget would be nice to know what you're looking for. But as Kangaroo said, those JBL's are great. If you're looking to keep it really cheap, the Dayton B652's area some nice budget speakers.
Well, I can go as high as I can justify, I'd cap it at £150, but that certainly doesn't mean I'll spend £150 on shit :v they betta be made o' gold!
These are apparently very very good. https://www.whathifi.com/wharfedale/ds-1/review I used to sell this stuff up untill 7 years ago. Wharfdale was always top notch.
-snip I need to look twice before I post- Warfedales are p nice, and if you're welcome to used you can get some really nice deals on some great speakers.
What you think about USB speakers ? Did you have any experience with them ?

TOTL parts (7" Scanspeak and Raal tweeter is oh so good) and you're still under two-grand. Add a schiit saga and you have a tube-buffered remote controlled preamp with a 64-stepped attenuator and your golden. Otherwise it'd be the Micca Pb42x's in the sub $150 category and the Overnight Sensations, Philharmonic Affordable Accuracies, and JBL LSR305's in the mid tier section. Did you have any experience with them ?
Any modern mobo will have a better dac than the typical less-than-$100 usb tash the market throws out. It's as simple as connecting the 3.5mm line out of your computer to the main active speaker monitor. If your mobo's dac is really that bad, the behringer uca202 is a good external dac in the meantime.
What you think about USB speakers ? Did you have any experience with them ?
USB is way too low powered to sound good. You need something with a mains plug.

I have a soundblaser sound card anyway with suitable connectors. Thanks for your suggestions, my current speakers: The sound quality is okay but they keep popping on bass. I like the look of the JBL LSR305 However I will need to hold off for those as I don't have the space in my room for them as well as 2 metric tonnes of other stuff laying about.
