Deus Ex1 doesn't show my save file, it makes no sense how it happened.

So my Steam library kept opening on the 'media' tab so I set it to 'installed' and then exited Steam and then restarted it. When I launched DX1, it asked for that "I agree" thing from when you first install. I click agree and launched the game, and now no saves files appear in game And when I exit the game, it crashes! WTF all of this from exiting Steam?
I check my saves in the docs folder and they are still there
So I verify game cache and it solves nothing (aside from breaking my mods of course )
No I did nothing before this cause it. Everything was fine until that.

Have you tried reinstalling the game, copying the saves to somewhere else?
I copies the saves to my friend's PC, they didn't seem to work :suicide:

Opening my gamesave file with notepad reveals there is nothing in it, his own save file does have stuff in it :pwn:
*sigh* Oh well. There's no program that can find older versions right? My system restore is off cause I'm on an SSD.

Well sadly your save is gone. I have to admit though - the circumstances of this happening at all are so slim it's hilarious what happened to you.
Horrible. But hilarious.
