I'm on a gateway that can max Crysis with about 20, and a 2.5. Cost about 950 CAD back in '08. Try seeing what they have now, I've long since dropped my radar in the laptop market.

I'd say wait for the new lineup, I've gone to a Sony retailer training yesterday and we've seen a few Vaios from the new lineup that are actually quite nice, if I remember correctly they have a laptop for 950 Euro that has a i5 430 and a 5650 with 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM, it also had a 15.5" screen.
