When I start up a game (most notably L4D/2 and MW2) my router box restarts.
I have had this problem ever since I moved to Win7 a few months ago but up until now I have tolerated it. But since a few friends want to play L4D2 and sometimes Modern Warfare 2 (yea I know, just go along with it) my router RESTARTS EVERY TIME! And then I can't join a game because it gets stuck in an endless loop of restarting itself until I close the game.
I've had this BT box for around 3 years.
please help.
And please don't say "Get another ISP" because I am about to move so we HAVE to stay with BT for the next 6 months until I move from fucking England with their shitty BT and shit shit shit...
What's your monthly allowance of bandwidth? Some ISPs will try to cut your internet if you reach the limit each month. Also try upgrading firmware on your router.
By my knowledge, we have unlimited download limit.
And even if I did go over my limit then that doesn't explain why it has been doing this day after day for months.
I'm starting to think my box is just going bad. Its old and its fell off my desk a few times...
