Updating your Jailbroken iDevice?

So my question is can i normaly update my iPhones os 3.1.3 to OS4?

Or do i have to do somthing like restore whole phone to normal settings?

You can normaly update/upgrare your Jailbroken iDevice but you will lose your jailbreak.

Updating on a jailbroken device is a pain because there's no way to backup your installed packages.
