Well, i've got my ipod ready for jailbreak but i have some questions: 1) I have and ipod touch 3.1.2 32gb, will that be a tethered jailbreak? 2) What jailbreaker do i use? 3) Will i have to restore my ipod first? 4) If i don't have to restore, will i lose my stuff? 5) Will itunes force my ipod to install 3.1.3 and finally: 6) If it bricks, can you fix it? ( by you, i mean me ) [editline]01:21PM[/editline] Any help? Please? I really want to jailbreak but i'm worried about the issues i'll have
1) Is it 3rd gen? If so, then yes. 2) www.blackra1n.com 3) Umh, no? Not sure, don't count on me. 4) Yes. 5) No. 6) I can't fix it, but almost everyone else here can. And if you mess something, you can restore it via iTunes.

1) Depends on model, my ipod touch got tethered and my sister's iphone 3gs didn't, I got mine a few months ago, she a half year ago. 2) as said before, blackrain. 3) You don't have to restore your iphone first, and you can remove the jailbreak without restoring it. 4) You won't lose anything 5) You don't get forced to install the newer firmware 6) I've never seen a bricked iphone/itouch, but I assume you mean the black screen, I heard it's fixable by either restoring it, or use a program, quickpwn or something it is called.
Hey, I don't want to make a new thread, but what are the chances of you ruining your Iphone 3G with this, I am considering Jailbreaking and this is what is standing between me and a yes.
Alright, well you can't jailbreak if your on 3.1.3, and if your phone screws up just restore (happened to me once) . And if you jailbreak it will usually save your apps and everything, just make sure to back up just in case. There is no real chance to screw up anything, except having your phone wiped and it being like when you first got it, but like I said you want to backup first!

I'm sorry, but I just want to be sure

At least, I've never heard of it happening, ever. Even if you manage to screw your OS up beyond repair, only possible by manually messing around with system files or installing some really bad apps, you can do a simple restore and it'll be good as new.

But I don't you can really harm somethings, worst thing that could happen is that you'll have to restore it, meaning it'll remove everything such ass apps, videos and people in your list etc
