I think this is the right section for this.
I just got a new phone through StraightTalk, a Samsung t528g.
The problem is, I don't get good enough service in my area to get MMS.
This phone supports java and has quite a few apps available.
What I'd like to do is have somewhere that friends could send MMS's, such as an email, and I'd be able to receive them on my phone through wifi.
It would be nice if I could also send them, but that's not needed.
I've seen apps for it before, but I wasn't thinking to favorite the site I saw it on.
Can anyone give some assistance in this issue?
Most phones can send MMS to email by default, if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, on Verizon, you can send emails to [phone number]@vzw.com and it'll be sent to your phone, so I assume if you use a regular email address, same will apply.
You just need a regular email client for the phone, then get friends to send the MMS to your email account. You should be able to use the mobile version of Hotmail / GMail on whatever browser the phone has, assuming it lets you do wifi. If not, Opera Mini should work.
