Specs + idle temps. Additional information. Cooling done by 1 large (120mm?) fan, one on the CPU heatsink and one small fan in the front of the PC. Reference pic: [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8632815/Foto0268.jpg[/img_thumb] Power is provided by a 500 Watt OCZ component, model ocz500MXSP. All clock speeds are default. Programs I already have: CPU-Z, Speedfan, Speccy, Prime95, Furmark. So, what are my options to safely overclock my PC for some better performance, and how would I got about and doing that in the best possible way?
OC CPU, Check temps with HWMonitor. Simply try OC-ing by little bits in BIOS.
Every computer is different it's like asking some one you've just met how fast you can run. And if your cpu idle is 46 like in the pic then you're not getting to much out of it at all. I would get a better cooler for that CPU.
OC CPU, Check temps with HWMonitor. Simply try OC-ing by little bits in BIOS.
You will should do a stability test like prime95 to see if you have gone too far (This will help you test your load temps as well)
In my BIOS, I can increase the Multiplier of the CPU (Thanks to the Black Edition), how far should I crank it up? 0.5x, 1x? And does the voltage need to be increased as well then? GFX any headroom for overclocking?
