At least this will curb the urge to use the lowest quality cell phone headset people can find and sound like they are trying to comunicate to you through tin can that still has some tuna in it
Yes, throw out those toys you have and buy a Microsoft® certified headset for features exclusive to the Xbox One™!
Oh you're so generous Microsoft.
So now instead of everyone using garbage quality $5 mics, they can use garbage quality $50 mics with a microsoft sticker on the box
"near future" aka when they've sold enough of their own
I want to use my g9fucking30
Clearly using proprietary connectors to cash in on more licensing fees and all that crap, and at the same time screwing consumers because they can't use their own peripheral devices.
Who the hell cares?
Because VGA, USB, HDMI are proprietary.
HDMI is technically proprietary.
By third-parties they mean Razer, Alienware and Turtle Beach.
"This also required creating a new expansion port design for headsets and future controller add-on devices which is different from a standard audio plug input."
Ahahah such bullshit you made a proprietary connector for exactly one reason: to make more money.
