My current setup:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
EVGA e-GeForce 8600 GT
Abit KN8 (Ultra/SLI/OTES)
3GB DDR-SDRAM
Not overclocked or anything, I have a budget of about $150-200 and i need to know what would be the best thing in here to upgrade.
Its been holding out well with most of the newest games but its starting to chug a bit and I have never been able to bring it above low settings in them all.
The best suggestions I have heard so far is to upgrade the video card to 9800 GT or GTX, but the rest of the setup besides the ram is pretty weak to, any help would be appreciated.
Did I do something wrong? or does no one have any ideas at all?
mmmm Best option is to spend about equal on chip and GC.
Save up for new computer. You are using DDR memory.
You could buy a new CPU/Motherboard/RAM combo or something.
Reuse your optical drive, HDD, case, OS, etc.

Do you know if that 8600GT is PCI-E?

Total comes to about $220 including shipping.
@Ghostofme, they don't make 8600 GT AGPs.
