I have 2 computers and explorer.exe is corrupt on one, the other one recently died so I can't get it from there.
Can someone please upload it for me?
What service packs were installed and what hotfixes? Some of these modify Explorer.exe so it isn't that simple.
Latest ones I think, It corrupted 2 days ago.
Put 7 CD in and run the repair tool?

Already tried that, doesn't work.
Can't I just get the explorer.exe and at least try it? It's not like it's gonna get any worse.
Sounds like a virus bro
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits, if you want a upload, to try.
Programs don't just magically corrupt. Especially the major ones in major OS'es. What were you doing to break it?

Umm, actually they can. If for example, you were applying an update that was editing explorer.exe, and the hard drive failed to completely write to the sector, then voila! Corrupt program.
Various factors can occur in the usage of a computer that can cause it to write incomplete files or write the wrong data to the wrong file.
Are you sure it won't work? My computer tells me that, and I go to Task Manager -> File -> New Task (Run...) -> explorer.exe and it works fine
Thanks, that worked :D

Toled me it wasn't a valid windows32 file.

What? What are you talking about, no one said anything to you and you didn't post previously, yet you sound like your answering someones post?

That's not magically though, in your example you are doing something and the failure caused it to break. The OP just said it stopped working and that was all.

The OS runs many different processes in the background, and if windows update is on that just proves it further.

That is a very unique problem then. I have never seen Explorer.exe ever get corrupt. Actually, its rare I see a file become corrupt period, especially OS files. I'm thinking its more of a virus problem then anything. Either that or his HD is dying.

Your probably right, though, he'll need explorer back to easily back his data up to reinstall windows.
