Commencing arguments involving TotalBiscuit in 3... 2... 1...
Heard some very good things about this one, the concept of super powers is always delightful, and I did enjoy my time with SR2 and SR3; so I'll gamble on it.
I was debating whether to buy this or not, and the '50s stage got me really into it. I think it's time. Here's a deal for only $32 on Nuuvem.. The site is safe, you get a Steam key, but it's Brazilian and also [sp]Valve can remove the game from your Library because you accepted a Terms of Use that says that you like in South America, thus you are not supposed to buy it from them. So, I prefer $45 on Steam just for safsies.[/sp]
Really excited, heard nothing but good things about it from people who've played it, other than a few details like cars, despite having so much new customization, being passed over for the superpowers by a few players.
just wait a month for GTA V
The game seems to be about playing it how you want to play it, and the characters and writing have clearly improved back to SR2 levels, I liked the third, but the writing wasn't the strongpoint of it. I really want to get this, it looks like a blast.
"What's the point of cars if I can run fast and basically fly?" Fun?
"What's the point of cars if I can run fast and basically fly?" Fun?
Alternative playstyles?
just wait a month for GTA V
Implying they're alternatives? No
you can't even compare Saints Row to GTA anymore.
The thread title is fucked. It means Pre-Load.
"What's the point of cars if I can run fast and basically fly?" Fun?
Fun. What's not fun about running really fast and having a semi-flying ability? And then if you want to you can also a drive a car if you feel like it. It's kinda funny how TB trashes things like that and claims they are leftovers that are there just for the sake of it. I mean, what the fuck? It's a sandbox game, it's a city, it's got cars, do you want to NOT be able to use cars? How fucking pissed off wouldn't that make people? And how bizarre wouldn't that be? You've got superpowers but you can't even ride a car? He also forces himself to look at it from the viewpoint of "is this a DLC sold as a full game?" when it's been confirmed so many times that the DLC was scrapped and the sequel they were already working on just tied itself into the concepts and ideas of the DLC, and then he drags on about re-used assets even though it's been clear since first peek of the title that they would do that, just like they did with SR2, because you know, re-making everything costs a lot of time and money and isn't meaningful. I'm glad that at the end of it he still thought it was a good game though, and it's not like every complaint he made was wrong either, like how the side-missions gets a bit too much attention in the story and sticks out like sore thumbs in contrast to the rest of the game.
over the past few months my opinion on SR4 changed drastically originally it made me really mad, but now I'm actually kind of hyped. I really hope this game isn't bad.
The most disappointing things I've heard is that the city layout still sucks and the story is still an afterthought at best. Definitely still going to buy it at some point though since I'm very impressed with the actual gameplay.
i think the point he was trying to make was that running is literally better than cars in every way, and cars should be balanced for the sake of the situation the boss is in for instance, being in a car while it explodes shouldn't 1hk you anymore, you're a super hero for all intents and purposes, car explosions shouldn't mean shit and since you are in a simulation, you should be able to maybe sprint or phase through obstacles with any car, to make it more convenient than running, but less fast maybe?
The less advantageous sides of a car just pronounces that your superpowers are actually superpowers. The superpowers wouldn't feel super if taking a car had bigger benefits than running at the speed of light as superman. Superman doesn't use cars either, although he wouldn't die using a car he wouldn't be able to enhance the car he's driving, and it would be slower than he is. But since you also aren't superman that's invincible it still makes sense to die from the car blowing up, bullets kills you, you have to pick up health, why wouldn't a fucking car explosion kill you? There shouldn't be any benefits to cars, because you've got fucking superpowers.
$50 for SR3 with cheats enabled NO THANKS LOL
$50 for SR3 with cheats enabled NO THANKS LOL
Nice job not looking into this game whatsoever.
$50 for SR3 with cheats enabled NO THANKS LOL
Read: Hi i'm a fanboy that saw one screenshot of a game and instantly assumed the worst! I am desperatly trying to get some Winners and Zings, but I deserve boxes!
just wait a month for GTA V
Read: all open world games have the same play style That would be like comparing GTA and Red Faction at this point
Here's how I plan to shift my time between upcoming new releases Saints Row IV > GTA V > Watch Dogs > ??? So many good games coming out this year!
you can't even compare Saints Row to GTA anymore.
Plus eh... GTA V hasn't even been announced for PC as of yet.
Here's my stance: SR4>Watchdogs>AC4>Arkham Origins>GTAV(calm your tits, I'm putting it here because as a PC gamer I can't play it this year) This really is the year of the open world, I think. There's five of them coming out, all of which have different gameplay elements and stories. Really can't wait to play them all.
Of those games, only one of them offers true player customization. I wish more games did that,

The problem with his review that I had was that he saved it for the last five minutes to say how good it is, as it only gave those idiots more firepower in terms of "OMG LOL DIS DLC IZ BAD" information. [editline]17th August 2013[/editline]
Of those games, only one of them offers true player customization. I wish more games did that,
Yeah, but of those games, only one game has it make sense to have full player customization. The others have different elements that are strengthened in them.
Of those games, only one of them offers true player customization. I wish more games did that,
It's not reasonable to have it in every game. There's no point being able to change Aiden in WatchDogs because that's who he is, his character is defined already. As is the character in the Assasins games (though being able to change outfits can still be used in things like that).

Also, we dont know if GTAV will be released next year, from whats been said by the Nvidia dude it could very well be this year or launch. [editline]17th August 2013[/editline]
Of those games, only one of them offers true player customization.
