i'm on windows xp, my sisters keep playing games on these mysterious japanese anime game sites and a virus is on my system. Every time i boot my computer it will run super slow, and periodically throughout the time of use it will run super slow. Soon after, i will get an error message saying "ZSL.exe has failed would you like to send an error report?" I send an error report even though it won't help shit. My virus scanner won't pick it up how do i remove it?
Format and reinstall windows, slap you sister over the face.
That if it's really is a virus since it wont get picked up? What virus scanner? What do the virus do? Try find ZDL.exe in the msconfig and kill it from starting up. Might just be some dodgy bullshit software.
From a bit of googling it sounds like zdl.exe isn't a virus, but rather a game engine called ZDoom used to port Doom over to modern machines (that's what I interprated from the website). I don't think it's a virus (although a program could easily have disguised itself as such), but why it runs on startup is beyond me. Like the guy above said, block it from running on boot in msconfig and reboot. Post back telling us what happened.
