Haha oh wow, what a way to quickly grab some cash out of those who never experienced VR before.

While i'm not saying this is entirely right or anything like that, you have to remember that the demo machines they have out tend to end up either being damaged, or people use the shop just to come in and waste time. Both of those potentially result in lost money for them, and with an expensive headset like this it's somewhat understandable why they'd want to try to take precautions to stop those things.
It doesn't entirely seem like it's there to make money specifically. They'd get £60 an hour at the most, but they would be balanced out by needing to have to have a staff member there managing it during that time as well, who could probably be doing other more profitable things instead.
They're a business. Don't use their expensive machines if you don't want to pay for it.
This seems reasonable. It'll prevent a long line from forming so people who are actually considering buying it can test it without waiting for a bunch of kids, girls taking selfies, and bored teens to leave
They recently reported their profits had fallen by 80% and now they are charging people to play a demo of PSVR. I just have to wonder if this is a sign of a company that could be going bankrupt.

HMV managed to turn around in probably not even half that time. (So much so even I became a fan) GAME in comparison is like they are fucking asking for it, still basically sticking its head in the sand for online and still alienating the PC user base.
