I found some stuff I can sell. I can get about $200 worth of parts. What should I upgrade? And 2GB of the RAM is faulty, I'm going to RMA it. I actually have 4GB.
Do you want to? What are you using it for?
If so it depends on your budget, the motherboard seems capable of AM3 and any graphics card so
you should be fine to get an X4 and some graphics card depending on your budget, chances are you'll
need a new power supply too.
Give us a budget and what you plan to use it for.
$200 at the current moment and possibly up to $300. I'll find out shortly.
I'm hoping to do a bit of gaming. I do a lot of Source games, but I also do the occasional BC2 and some other games. The issue I'm having with this card is that I upgraded to a 1920x1080 monitor and the old graphics card doesn't like gaming at that res.
$220 for an X4 and 5770.
Which would be best model-wise of each? I'm thinking that overclocking would make the higher-speed ones a bit useless.

And what about a 6770? Is there much of a difference?
6770 is pretty much a rebranded 5770.
So not worth it?
What speed X4 should I get?

it's not "pretty much", it is a renamed 5770
same with the 6/5750

X4 955
How's the 6850? There's a $15 MIR.

It's very good and if you're willing to spend the extra you should definitely do it.
Thanks, I'll do the 6850 and the X4 965.
Don't bother with the X4 965. It's just a slightly overclocked X4 955 BE really.
Get the 955 as Darkebrz said and see if you can squeeze out a little bit more money on a hyper 212+ or something, it'll be more than worth it.
The 965 has a $15 promo code making it $5 cheaper than the 955.
If I go for the 212+, do I need thermal paste too? I'm not sure when it comes to this stuff. But otherwise, I hope to be ordering by the end of this week.
It comes with it, it's decent.
Yeah, it comes with it and the thermal paste it comes with is actually pretty good and a good amount.
