What is the Political Compass? The political compass is a chart used for plotting your political position, intended to provide a more accurate reading than the traditional left-right scale. For example, Josef Stalin and Ghandi are both considered leftists, but their views were extremely different, and it would be inaccurate to say that one was simply further to the left than the other. Because of this, the political compass is two dimensional; the X axis measures your economic positions from left to right (in this case, the furthest to the left would have a 100% regulated economy, while the furthest to the right would have no economic regulation), and the Y axis measures your authoritarian side by your positions on social and ethical issues. Both are measured on a scale from -10 to 10. 9/10 of posters will be in center left slightly dripping south.

Last time I did the test I was right where Ghandi is
Further to the left and south I crawl: Libertarianism is a terrible ideology

Hm, interesting, I usually would consider myself a fairly Center-Libertarian.

My old one... I may retake it and see if my results have changed [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] Retook it I have moved to the left

No surprise here.
Gone slightly down south since last time I took the test, but still at where I was thinking I'd be around.
"Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all." Sorry, what does defining art have to do with political standing...? [editline]5th October 2012[/editline] Also here's me:
"Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all." Sorry, what does defining art have to do with political standing...?
I think they actually explain that in their FAQ but I'm not completely sure.
I find it very disappointing that while most people these days are left/centre/right libertarians, the political parties are all right authoritarian Me: [editline]5th October 2012[/editline] I was sure I was more centre than that...
looks about right
looks about right
Looks more like left to me
Libertarian socialism-syndicalism, bitches. But I've said it before, the test is way too broad and for people who are closer to center, you're going to get results farther out than you probably should because the ratings aren't exactly descriptive enough to plot minor ideological differences.
Yeah, sounds about right to me.

Kind of what I expected, probably would be more in the center if they had a "No-Opinion," button.

[t]http://www.politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=-9.00&soc=-8.00[/t] I'm not really that libertarian, does polcompass fuck up a bit at the extremes due to the nature of the tests? Also, here's the UK parties general places, though they alter depending on certain policies. [t]http://www.politicalcompass.org/charts/uk2010.php[/t]
