I actually had started on one of these types of projects myself. Took a broken Capcom cabinet and gutted it out and wired everything to an ipac. Never really got it 100% set up and only had a computer and monitor rigged up inside of it. Eventually it just started to take up space so I had to get rid of it. :saddowns:
I tried this when I was 13 or so, with the instructions taken from a Retro Gamer article.
I...didn't get very far as you can imagine.
For quite some time i really wanted to build a Hotline Miami arcade cabinet because the gameplay + music + graphics seems to make sense for a arcade cabinet

oh fuck thats a good idea
i want to do it now
I've always wanted to setup a MAMECade (arcade cabinet using MAME), but unfortunately lack both the space to put the thing and the time to build it.
I really want to make an emulation arcade cabinet one day, probably not for a couple of years at least to get it all planned. I'd like to set up a 500 GB SSD with tons of emulators/games ranging from ColecoVision to N64 (or PS2/Gamecube/Wii depending on how good of a PC I invest in for it). There's an arcade frontend called HyperSpin specifically designed for MAME and other emulators, it's pretty great. I'd like to completely design my own theme and visuals for it and all the games myself which is likely what would take up the most time, although I also would like to wait until HyperSpin 2 comes out which will supposedly be loads better and has been in the works for years. The only thing I haven't decided on is if I should just use a generic arcade paddle, which would be the easiest and cheapest, or if I should just invest in a ton of those USB adapters for SNES/N64 controllers - which would be more accurate, but could take up a lot of space and I would feel like it would be missing adapters for Coleco/Atari and shit.
The closest thing to an arcade I ever made was a 4-button stick at a summer program.
I played a lot of Wolfenstein 3D with it.
That controller table is massive. Could they at least copy an SNK layout?
Oh, cool, I just happened to have $665 lying around.. now I know what to do with it.

You can tell your brother how fucking jealous I am.
Having my own arcade gameroom has been a childhood dream of mine.

I'd absolutely want this. I wonder how well the controls could be adapted to sticks though.

If someone makes some artwork that I can print out I will do it
