So basically: [u]He was going 14 mph over the speed limit[/u] He ignored [U]7 visual warnings[/U] He ignored [U]6 audio warnings[/U] He had 7 seconds in which he could have seen the vehicle he was going to crash into, but did nothing to avoid it He had his hands actually on the wheel for 25 seconds out of the 37 he was driving Can't fix stupidity, only do what Tesla did and make it so that you can't fucking use autopilot if you ignore the warnings.
He went 9 over the speed limit which is par for course on an interstate. Regardless auto pilot doesn't mean you shouldn't still be aware of your surroundings and ready to make manual adjustments at any moment. Idiots like this think auto pilot is smooth sailing and that you can play card games and fuck about which simply isn't the case.
Guarantee you he was on his phone. What a dumbass. The car was never at fault here. You cannot engineer away all the stupid and complacency. Some always manages to get through.
