Can I recover Friend's Gamertag and Download his GTA 4?

My friend bought GTA 4 on xbox live so he has it saved to his hard drive and plays without the disc. Can I recover his account and download GTA 4 on my harddrive so I can give my GTA 4 disc away to someone else? Or does xbox live restrict the game to the certain gamertag?

Most likely restricts it to his GT only. Just go and buy it. It's not that much.

You still need the disc to play a game that's saved on the hard drive, so that wouldn't work at all.

Purchases bought are saved on his hard drive, I think. So if you recover his gamertag you'd still have to buy it, because it isn't bought on your hard drive.

No way. I don't have a 360, but if that's how it works, it's total bs.
What if your HDD breaks? You lose all your sales?
