• website blocking programs?

So my twin 12 year old nieces just got two netbooks for their birthdays. Long story short, their parents are hassling me to put porn blockers on both netbooks to 'protect' their children. I know its a dumb idea, and the implications it would create. But does facepunch know of some free program i can download that just blocks some obvious porn websites? Any suggestions?
Don't do it. That's retarded, they're twelve. They can do whatever they feel like doing and if they feel like masturbating to pornography, let em'.

I'm just the messenger here. Either I do it with some shitty program that blocks some hardcore porn from japan, or they go have their other friend do it thats going to set off screeching alarms and lock the computer up at any mention of the words "penis, porn, sex, masturbation, or vagina". So even though it seems like i'm fucking them over, i'm really doing them a favor in the end. I just need to know some decent programs that won't annoy them into being those computer-hating assholes we all hate lol.
NetIntelligence is good as you can block keywords and can edit it to what's aloud and what's not.
K9 Internet Security
Or use a simple HOSTS file tweaks no need to download programs.
Most good routers have URL blocking tools built-in. Perhaps there's a firefox plugin that also blocks porn..?

[editline]10:18PM[/editline] I suggests HOSTS file editing for obvious sites.. Or K9 web as said above.. Possibly your router could blacklist words too (I THINK mine can.. Never had to use it :v:)
Maybe adblock plus, in the filters you just type some websites, i have livejasmin blocked if it pops up again
Best way you could do it is setup OPENDNS on there netbooks and create an OpenDNS Account and you can block these sort of accounts and run pretty much a filtering system like Schools/Work Places from your place blocking websites they shouldn't be on.
