• Small GPU upgrade?

Hello, I am currently running a Sapphire 5770. This card is powering 3xDell 22" (Three 1680x1050's for a resolution of 5040x1050) monitors. I lag in certain games on high settings. Would the upgrade to a 5850 stop the lag, or would I still lag? SPECS: CPU: i7 860 @ 3.5ghz RAM: 4gb of DDR3 1600 MB : Asus p7p55d-e lx lga VGA: 5770 1gb Case: Storm scout Power supply: Corsair hx650 Hard drives : 2x30gb OCZ Vertex SSD's 1x300gb Samsung drive OS: Windows 7 ultimate
GTX 470 since it is cheaper. Or you could get a GTX 295 refurbished from this one site.
does GTX 470 support 3 screens on one card?
5850 is cheaper than the 470.
I think you're gonna need more than 1gb for a 5040x1050 effective resolution at high settings. On modern games 1gb is barely enough for 1900x1200 at high settings. So for smooth gaming at that res with high settings you're looking at a Crossfire or SLI setup.
Games are playable at high settings.. just when too much stuff starts to happen, i start to get a little studder. I believe the 5850 will cut it. I'll try it and see how it is.

Use a program called Softth.
How would i connect the third screen? i only see 2x DVI.
Ohh damn. Sorry. I assumed it would have 2xDVI and 1xHDMI or Display port. :/ One second here. [editline]03:36AM[/editline] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127501
And with the use of Softth, i can use that in a triple screen setup?

imo get another 5770 and crossfire that bitch
