I used to use source recorder frequently on windows xp, and I never had a problem.I recently installed windows 7 and tried to use source recorder again. I use the method where you put your game into windowed mode, enable sv_cheats, host_framerate 30. WHen I use the command startmovie *moviename*.avi the small codec box does not appear. It is recording in .wav by default, so I cannot record any of my demos.
