• Got a new fan, want suggestions where to put it.

I recently salvaged a fan off an older computer for use in my own, I'm not sure where to put it or where the air should go, I currently plan to mount on the back by the motherboard ports and blow out, but I would like more opinions. I currently have 4 fans in the computer, - Powersupply fan (blows out) - CPU fan(blows to side fan) - GFX card fan (Nvidia 550ti, if it matters) (Blows to bottom of the case) - Side fan (blows out) The space behind my computer is very tight, and the side with a fan is also in a tight spot.
What kind of case are you using? Could you supply an image of it for us to see?
I don't have a decent enough camera for pictures, nor can I find it online. It's made of metal, the left side is clear with a fan that is centrally located that blows outward, the right side is solid, the back has two open slots from old cards, and one large open grating where I figure the new fan can go, the top is also solid, the front doesn't have any place for a fan, but I could pop out the driver bay coverings for air. The area behind the computer is tight, cables against the wall, not really ideal for air flow, the side fan is also in a cramped position, I've read that side fans should actually suck air in, but I'm afraid this will conflict with the CPU fan with them blowing towards each other.
side fan should blow in, put it in the front
As Shadaez said, put it in the front if there's not a fan there already. As a "rule of thumb" for standard ATX cases, the fans are generally set up in this manner : Front: Intake Bottom: Intake Side: Intake Back: Exhaust Top: Exhaust Of course it also depends on how many fans a case can fit, but any available fans should be set up this way.
