How can I disable aero but leave this feature on? If I choose the simple win7 theme, this preview window is gone too.
No you can't. Out of curiosity why do you want to disable aero?
Free some resources
Free some resources
You won't noticed a difference. Really.
No game runs smooth in windowed mode with aero.
No game runs smooth in windowed mode with aero.
Can you give me screens/benches? I've never seen this happen. Hell I got the same FPS in Crysis Windowed with Aero enabled as I did when I was fullscreen with aero disabled.
Screens/benches of what? FPS is exactly the same windowed and fullscreen, but in windowed mode it's very jaggy and unsmooth, but in fullscreen it runs like it's supposed to run.

You should post some benches, really.

Benchmarks of your computers performance of course! What else could it be?
Uhh, why? It was perfectly fine on XP and works just as fine in fullscreen. Or do you mean that win7/vista score? It's 5,5 then
I think I know what he's talking about. Lemme get some screenshots up.
Damn I hate w7, all games even in fullscreen are jagging and running worse than on xp. What part did I fuck up to make it run so shitty? C2D E6750 @ 2.66ghz, 2gb ram, 8800gt. I am not sure why it spikes so much.
Stop using window mode?
If you have 2 monitors, it's not a thing to do. And why should I stop? Maybe I like it? Even in fullscreen games jerk a bit, but not even close to how much they do in windowed mode.
I have 2 monitors, it's perfectly fine for me running it in fullscreen.
My second is a lot smaller and running in fullscreen makes it span and I need to alt tab to switch to second, but in windowed I can just drag mouse over and it's done
huh? Since when does it span?
don't ask questions then argue when people try to help you
huh? Since when does it span?
It does for me. That's not the deal, I need to fix shitty windowed performance.
This alt tab problem seems to be very bad, you have to live a whole two seconds with black screen oh god. Anyway, I doubt turning off aero would help.
Anyway, I doubt turning off aero would help.
After all it doesn't. If I turn off aero the jagging is a lot less, but it's still there.
What do you mean by jagging? Frame skipping? Stuttering? Or the edges to objects look jagged?
Well ofcourse it could be that 2gb is a little tad too little for Win7? I'm not sure about this though, just a thought.
What do you mean by jagging? Frame skipping? Stuttering? Or the edges to objects look jagged?
Stuttering or frame skipping. It has nothing to do with AA. It feels like I have low fps but really it's 100+ [editline]09:11PM[/editline]
Well ofcourse it could be that 2gb is a little tad too little for Win7?
Can someone confirm this? If that's the deal, I am installing XP
I have this problem with crysis in windowed mode. The framerate is the same in fullscreen and windowed but in windowed it feels as if it's stuttering and skipping frames or whatever.
try lowering settings and then run in windowed mode.
Did you install the latest drivers?
Can someone confirm this? If that's the deal, I am installing XP
Nope, that's BS.. Win 7 Ultimate runs fine with aero on my netbook with 1GB of RAM.
Install graphics drivers, it's probably using generic ones.
