Hey there, I need to know if I should buy the 3Gs. I currently own the very original iPhone.
It was on firmware 1.1.2 when I got it so as you can tell, it's 3 years old.
I have a bunch of dead pixels on it, and the battery life sucks. It died 3 times last night after a full charge.
It just seems like it is time to retire this old champ I used to love. :smith:
So my question is, Should I buy the 3Gs? Or wait for a newer iPhone to come out.
You're kind of at that point where I wouldn't know if it's more wise to go ahead to buy the 3Gs or wait for a new iPhone since Apple's WWDC is coming up in a few months.
I say just find a temporary phone for now that suits you, and see what Apple says at WWDC. If they announce a iPhone or something then you'd be glad you waited. Otherwise, just go ahead and buy a 3Gs.
Get the 3gs, you won't regret it.
I would save up and get a higher end version of the new one when it comes out.
Just wait few months.
I'm in a similar situation (except I don't even have a first gen).
Going to wait and see what Apple say.
I have the 3Gs. Wait a bit and try to deal with the dying phone for now. I wouldn't waste an upgrade on a 3Gs months before the new big thing.
I think the next big thing is going to be 4.0 firmware.
Buy a 3Gs. One less person that has a better iPhone than me. :v:

see my problem is my contract runs out and ive had a iphone 3g for 18 months, what should i do? upgrade to a 3gs or get a nexus one when it comes out for the uk next month? 4g sounds good but its rumors and we dont know when it will be out :(

If you want the 3Gs, get the 3Gs. Don't prance around waiting for something you don't even know is mentioned of a release. My contract runs out in exactly 2 weeks, and I will get the iPhone 3Gs the next day.
It's a big jump from one of the first to one of the top models now. I'd say go for it.
The new one after 3gs can't be that much better then the 3gs.

It looks like ipad to me.
It'll probably be released in June or July like the other iPhones.
