• Dead Space 2 Very Low FPS While Playing.

When I'm playing Dead space 2 Im getting a very low FPS on the low graphical settings, ranging from 10-20 when the monsters are around and 20-30 when it's quiet. Seems like its' being throttled as it's a laptop. Either that or the video card lacks.
Well all other games can be run fine, I can run Metro2033 on medium, but not dead space 2 on low when the website tells me I have easily passed the minimum standards. [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] Is all of this standard for my card? because I have a feeling that somethings not quite right about it
It's a mobile card so it's considerably worse than its desktop counterpart but since Metro runs, I'm at a loss. Updated drivers to 11.7?
Iv'e just updated, I can run it no problems on very high now! Thanks :)
Didn't think that'd work based on your problems but hey, if it works don't question it. :v:
And now after restarting my Pc I can run it on low fine, I'll just count my losses [editline]3rd August 2011[/editline] And now it runs on medium with over 30 fps, I wish my pc would make its mind up! Anyway, thanks again.

Set your laptop/GPU to any "High Performance" modes it may have.
I have 2 GPUs, and ive always made sure its set to the performance one
I have 2 GPUs, and ive always made sure its set to the performance one
Umm, no.
Umm, no.
Sorry? Like most laptops there is an intergrated and a dedicated GPU which can be switched between using a button on the laptop itself or theres an option somewhere.

nVidia has it too >_>. it's hybrid graphics switching. http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/09/nvidia-optimus-automates-graphics-switching-promises-the-best-o/ That's for nVidia. ATi is here.
"2.1 GHz Performance Rated at: 4.2GHz" :v:
That just proves my earlier point.
That just proves my earlier point.
I'd be amazed if a laptop reached 4.2ghz without melting the laptop itself.
Never heard of that.
Optimus technology. It stwiches between the Intel HD graphics and the Nvidia graphics in order to save some battery life
That just proves my earlier point.
Quit your bitching please, thats all youv'e been doing! Still, anyone using that website gives anyone the right to bitch.
Well I already know I'm wrong about the switch. So that's that. Still, anyone using that website gives anyone the right to bitch.
No, it just gives people an idea on what to expect.
if your laptop isn't plugged in it downclocks everything to conserve battery life don't play games on battery
No, it just gives people an idea on what to expect.
Umm no, it's completely wrong. Specially when it says 4.2ghz total cpu power. I mean really?
if your laptop isn't plugged in it downclocks everything to conserve battery life don't play games on battery
Although Ive set it not to do this, I always play when plugged in.
