So I was planning on building a desktop that can run simple photo editing and games like Half - Life 2 and Portal 2. My budget would be anything under $250. I already have the hard drive, keyboard, mouse, monitor, dvd drive, mother board, power supply, and case. I was wondering if I could get any good parts like RAM, a graphics card, and a good enough cpu for around that price? Thanks!
Specs on the parts you already have?
Power supply: wattage, brand, model #
Mobo: brand, socket type, model #
would be 2 of the more important ones to know, but it'd be best if you could get us as much information as possible.
Power supply: 400 Watts and the brand is dell so im not really sure about the model number but it is form a Dell E510.
Mother board: Again, it came inside the Dell E510 but here is a link to the mother board: http://www.ascendtech.us/dell-dimension-5150-5100-e510-board_i_mb4delrd203.aspx
If I didn't give enough information about these, if there is another version that would still work that would have a nice price that would be fine.
You're far better off saving up quite a bit more and building from scratch. Some Dell PSUs and mobos have incompatibilites, and I doubt the wattage is high enough. $250 wouldn't really get you much.
Thanks anyway. I might just upgrade the ram to keep it working until I can get some more money.
