Currently I have a AMD athlon 64 FX-60 Dual core 2.6 ghz and I want to upgrade to a quad but I don't know if I should go AMD again or Intel. I'm probably going to have to get a new Motherboard anyways so Combo deals would be great. My current specs:

My goal is to run BFBC2 on high with a steady fps so should I also Upgrade my card? If so should I go ATI or stick with nVidia?
My budget is ~200$
Save and go i5.

Your 9800GTX is fine for now.
HOLY SHIT YOUR RAM SUCKS.

Oh good lord, you need a new computer.
gpu is good enough to keep for now, new mobo, ram and cpu
[editline]12:58AM[/editline]
which is gonna be hard for now on your budget, save up
God damn, you ram sucks.
Your GPU is good, but you might want a bigger HDD.
Save up another hundred-twenty five and get this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218 - HDD $70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138181 - Mobo $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103726 - CPU $70 (It's a triple core, but people are saying you can unlock a fourth core)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231253 - RAM $100
$319.97
+2.99 shipping
$321.96
Your card should be fine if you don't have a big monitor and don't mind no AA. Otherwise get an ATI card, they have a better price-performance ratio right now.

Nice
Quad-core setup on $200 budget is a little tricky. Here's what I came up with:

Salvage everything else, unfortunately you may only be able to use 1 HDD cause current mobos only have like 1 IDE slot with SATA being the standard now.

Awesome. I know IDE is a little old but it's really all I've got left. About the RAM, I'm using cheap ass value RAM that my dad bought a few years ago and it's all I have until I buy my own.
CPSharps is a nice value for price but I think I can save up a little longer and get what gamerkiwi is suggesting.

And the fourth core on that Rana may be a good idea. If I intend on over clocking should I Get a new PSU (currently rated for 400w I'll prolly end up needing a 550w or so) and heatsink?

Yeah you can try unlocking the 4th core on the Rana, it's a gamble though...even if you do initially succeed the core might be unstable.
What's your current PSU make and model?

Uhh, I don't know the name but I know it's 400w.

Just the wattage is not enough info.
If you open the case there should be a label on the power supply.
