I have this card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150561 this is how i have the monitors plugged in my 32" monitor is plugged into the HDMI port and my 24" is plugged into the dvi port, for some odd reason it wont let me use both? it's detected in display settings on windows and in catalyst control panel but shows it disabled of some sorts? and as far as i can tell theres no way of enabling it, i've updated my card with both monitors plugged in and still nothing and when i click extend displays in windows, it says "unable to save display settings" and this is what the second monitor settings looks like: if anyone would help i'd greatly appreciate it!
Did you try the dvi-port on the left?
the second dvi port wont work because my case, the cord wont fit, the case blocks it a bit
sorry double posting but needed a bump, need this solved asap :/
After a little bit of Googling around, maybe this will help: http://popthestash.com/2011/12/15/193/ If that doesn't work, completely reinstall your graphics drivers. At least that's what people are saying.
yeah i saw that while trying to figure this out, didn't help really, because i only have 2 monitors, and i don't know how to disable one..in the catalyst control panel you can exchange monitors, which sets my smaller one as the main, but then the 36" doesn't work..it's like my card won't let me use 2 monitors? O.o
Can you not disable them in Control Panel > Display? That's weird.
read around a bit, people said enable eyefinity in CCC, but it doesn't even let me do that...when i click eyefinity it says " Warning:your display configuration has been changed, ensure that your displays are connected and functioning properly" well i know they are because i can use either or, just not both at the same time?
Not sure what else to suggest without being there. I hope you get your problem fixed, and keep reading around. The solution will be posted somewhere.
download the latest package from from AMD. not just catalyst but the entire package with everything in it. install that. then uninstall graphics card driver. download the latest. restart the computer. install driver. also, are you using the DVI directly or dvi-vga adapter?
dvi directly, also followed your instructions, end result: nothing changed :/
On some cards the first DVI port is sharing the same output as the HDMI port, try using DVI2 or DP1/2.
Did you try one of the mini displayports?
I had the exact same problem. Made an account just to reply. Bought a second monitor and wanted to extend it but I kept getting the same error. You have to use the other DVI port (the one right next to the HDMI port) to get the extension to work.
