Looking for some good games with local multi/splitscreen and controller support to play on my couch with friends
Right now we've already got:

Duck game
That RC car soccer game I forget the name of
Helldivers
Preferring cooperative games over competitive
Any suggestions?
Rocket League is probably the game you're thinking of.
Tabletop Simulator... maybe. There's so much variety with all the workshop mods.
Cooperative:
Trine series
Magicka 1 & 2. (no idea how this plays with a controller)
Divinity: Original Sin perhaps, it does say on the Steam store page it supports Local Co-op, but I'm not quite sure if it means LAN or splitscreen/shared screen
Risk of Rain (there seems to be some screen limitations with this so take it with a grain of salt, also partial controller support)
Competitive:
Good ol' Worms Armageddon or most Worms games in general I guess
Lethal League
Speedrunners
Screencheat
Skullgirls
Crawl is pretty awesome.
Gauntlet
Mount Your Friends
Battleblock Theater
Megabyte Punch
Those last two are good in single-player too.
Vagante supports up to 4 players locally. Since its a roguelike platformer, its equal parts co-op and competitive.
Worms Armageddon possibly
nuclear throne
GRIP
Serious Sam and Goat Simulator both support local play and game pad.
Lego Star Wars.
