I liked Papa Johns but switched to a local pizzeria after their CEO turned out to be kind of an asshole.

The Papa John's by my university has put me off of them. We can buy pizza there with our university accounts (we get a few hundred per semester with the meal plan), but they don't get a tip from it (except maybe the delivery guy, but usually not). They've started to hate us, to the point where if you order a pizza from our school you might not get it for a few hours (some of my friends had to wait all night for one), and by then it's even worse. I really don't trust them to not screw with the pizzas at this point, anyways.
Meanwhile, my friend in New Mexico tells me the Papa John's their university uses is really good and even comes earlier than they tell you they'll be there. They also get an automatic tip added to the bill, so the workers are happy.
That's a really random promotion.

Just out of curiosity, what part of the country are you from? Where I am (in Michigan), Papa John's is pretty awful compared to Pizza Hut.

I live in Georgia and Papa Johns was the best delivery out of them, Pizza Hut, and Dominoes around here. Pizza Hut wasn't much worse but my experience with Dominoes has never been good.

Pizza hut is great because they are the only one's who will make stuffed crust for some reason.

Wait seriously - you folks tip at a fast food place? I can understand the delivery guy getting spare change. But tipping at a fast food place just feels so alien.

Well, usually it's a little extra given to the delivery guy when he drops it off. A lot of fast food places I've been to (not that many, mostly Subway) have a little cup or something that you can put tips in. It's a little thing, it brightens someone's day (okay, it really makes sure they'll get your food to you on time and not spit in it).
