Should have thought about that idea when you killed him off 15 years ago :v:
And he fucking should have. Raiden is a shitty and uninteresting character and honestly, I would have bought the game if he wasn't the star. I just can't stand him. I'm sure the game is good, i'd just rather support the studio by buying their console re-releases of zone of the enders, then by buying this. Better game anyway. [editline]21st January 2013[/editline]
Should have thought about that idea when you killed him off 15 years ago :v:
It would have most likely been a prequel.
wait, is the game named Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance now? Wasn't it just Metal Gear Revengeance?
Why not have Grey Fox as an alternate costume then?
You know i'd actually be really really looking forward to this game a lot more if you were playing as grey fox instead... no matter how badass you make raiden he'll always be a little bitch deep down. [editline]21st January 2013[/editline]
Why not have Grey Fox as an alternate costume then?
what about the annoying nasally raiden voice? don't get me wrong i love raiden... just he's kind of a little bitch
raiden is a good character and i legitimately don't understand why people don't like him. just because he isn't solid snake doesn't mean anything mgs2 was awesome [editline]21st January 2013[/editline] and i like that kojima let a little bit go with this. if he had ultimate control over his products it could easily go the way of the star wars series - you need new people with new ideas that can keep the ultimate creator in check

He's like the combined idea of a bad internet suggestion forum. He's a robot ninja guy who has a family, who dances and drives cars and fights robots in suits and doesn't have a jaw and he somehow is still alive after taking a rammed ship head on and yada yada.
Why not have Grey Fox as an alternate costume then?
Because he already is :v: Also, it wouldnt have worked anyway, theres a VERY small period of time between when he escapes Dr. Clark and MGS1. 2 years. yeah but it's still the same VO right? also i'd like to make clear i didn't mind playing as raiden in MGS2 and all around he's a decent character. just his personality....

Its very much so improved when compared to MGS2, and its not as emo as MGS4. Also, his personality is more psychopathic in MGR, less like a whiny pansy bitch.

We've managed to avoid DROWNING
Is that a robot tiger thing with a chainsaw for a tail? [sub]It is, isn't it?[/sub]
Too late Mr. Kojima... No NANOMESHINS! in the world can bring back from the dead the human equivalent of a piece of gum wrapped around tinfoil after being stepped on. Now, let us remember why Grey Fox was plain Awesome: Trivia: his voice actor is the same as Grim's from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy Damn, the first Metal Gear Solid was freaking amazing. Why can't I imbed videos?

[sub]It is, isn't it?[/sub]
Bladewolf. After its boss fight, when its rebuilt as an ally, it apparently ditches the chainsaw. [editline]21st January 2013[/editline] But in return concept art shows it with a Railgun instead of a chainsaw.
I'm pretty sure they retired Grey Fox because when the original VA dies in Japan they honor them by retiring the character.
Anyone remember the Gray Fox missions on MGS:VR Missions/Integral? Those were the shit and also I'm pumped for MGR:R.
I'm pretty sure they retired Grey Fox because when the original VA dies in Japan they honor them by retiring the character.
Gray Fox had two VA's, the one in the original game did infact die.

MGS4 he was a silly mobile deus ex machina. The plot would literally have been the same with a few minor alterations had Raiden never existed. Frank is by far one of the most interesting characters in the MGS franchise to say he's only been portrayed a few times. His history is ripe as heck for exploring and if they don't do it in MGS5 I will be heavily surprised/disappointed. It really is a shame they didn't go with Frank on this.
i'd love to play a game as a bloody smear on a hangar floor. [editline]21st January 2013[/editline] really for someone really cool his death was probably the worst death he could have had.

[editline]21st January 2013[/editline] really for someone really cool his death was probably the worst death he could have had.
Yes, but he couldn't have gone out in a more badass way. Fighting off a fucking nuclear bipedal tank. That and his last lines. "We are not tools of the government, or anyone else." It's been ages since I played MGS1 but I will always love frank. Rip you badass fucking ninja.
I wish they never made Raiden a cyborg ninja, im cool with cyborgs but the ninja thing should be reserved for Gray Fox. He was underwhelming in MGS4 only appearing to save the day in a short cutscene every once in a while that didn't need to happen. He should have stayed human, or if they wanted the Cyborg bit that bad just have him as a cyborg with a gun. I dont get the big deal of cyborgs with katanas.
Bringing Gray Fox back would have made his death in MSG1 less meaningful and degrade the story as a whole in my opinion.
Bringing Gray Fox back would have made his death in MSG1 less meaningful and degrade the story as a whole in my opinion.
As a prequel it wouldn't. His history is rich as hell and seeing his mental decline as well as what is effectively mental torture via the patriots making him do all this shit would have added even more depth. I mean "I got into bar fights because I was so angry at everything UGHHHHH now I'm a badass" is the most try-hard thing I've ever heard. His transition from whiny rookie to invincible cyborg ninja is just poorly devised.

Which would have been the story narrated by MG:R until they switched it to Platinum Games and made it a spinoff of the events after MGS4.
Which makes no sense considering how he gave it up at the end of MGS4 to raise his family.
Which makes no sense considering how he gave it up at the end of MGS4 to raise his family.
IIRC Raiden has to get another cyborg body after Jetstream Sam fucks him up
Which makes no sense considering how he gave it up at the end of MGS4 to raise his family.
Actually it does. He joins Maverick, after Boris, a friend from the original story for Riising (when it was MGS:R) invites him for a fulltime job so he can provide for his family, during a job where he's protecting Prime Minister N'Mani of an african nation that nobody knows the name of, he's ambushed by Desperado, sliced up bad, and him and Maverick set out to take them out.
My minds still kinda blank. Were the mecha police african?
