I thought that the video was unrealistic, because she picked up one of those big trash bins with the orange grav gun, which isnt possible, you could only punt them.
Wasn't the Gravity Gun supposed to be quite heavy? Alyx could barely lift it in the game.

That's because it wasn't turned on. How else do you think Gordon can sprint with the thing?

HEV suit
HEV suit
HEV suit isn't strength enhancing exo skeleton. When turned on gravity gun does the magic and lightens itself too.
HEV suit isn't strength enhancing exo skeleton. When turned on gravity gun does the magic and lightens itself too.
Yeah it is, he obviously can't hold anything without a HEV suit, not even a crowbar, so it must make him stronger
:v:

why didnt alyx just turn it on before picking it up then
why didnt alyx just turn it on before picking it up then
are you really implying alyx is intelligent
are you really implying alyx is intelligent
She was the reason D0G was so big, originally it was knee high until Alex added to it.
are you really implying alyx is intelligent
no but she has a sonic screwdriver that fixes everything so why not use that?
I thought that the video was unrealistic, because she picked up one of those big trash bins with the orange grav gun, which isnt possible, you could only punt them.
I think it's unrealistic because it isn't real.
I clicked the link to watch their Rayman video
just wow, I've never been creeped out by Rayman before.
Even more evidence that Half-Life/2 would make an awesome movie.
i really would like to understand why it is that nearly all hl2 fan work for some reason involves really stupid over the top action. i was totally with the vid (that eli was damn good) and then all of a sudden
a combine
did a powerslide
and started shooting at alyx
wtf
This was a lot better than most of those shitty City 17 movies that were made.

Better than looking like a complete dolt running down at such a steep angle.

Except it really really really really really wouldn't.
At all.

Depends on what you make it about. HL2's world could tell really interesting stories, the movie just couldn't be about Gordon or anything involving Gordon. Maybe another city somewhere or a small rebel outpost in the middle of goddamn nowhere.
HEV suit isn't strength enhancing exo skeleton. When turned on gravity gun does the magic and lightens itself too.
Okay explain....
A Crowbar, a Pistol, a 357, an SMG, an AR2, a Shotgun, a Crossbow, an RPG, a Gravity Gun, 5 Grenades, a Bugbait that can launch pheromones, all packed to the brim with ammo, added on to the weight of the HEV Suit and Gordon himself. Either Gordon was doing lifts all those 20 years in stasis, or the HEV Suit is also an exoskeleton.
or that its a videogame and valve wanted the player to be able to have options at all times for gameplay's sake
or if you want to take in Half-Life 2 from a completely story perspective, then the HEV Suit is an exoskeleton
HEV suit isn't strength enhancing exo skeleton. When turned on gravity gun does the magic and lightens itself too.
But Breen uses it at the end to blast that door and he's clearly like 'fuck this is so heavy holy shit'
It's the muscle equivalent of growing up under a power line. That suppression field that controls the ability to reproduce has obviously weakened people to that extent, while Freeman has been in a dimensional storage closet for 20 years and not exposed to it.
Hence, why everyone else can't lift it.

Breen is a pussy sellout though

this is a really stupid argument
Breen is a pussy sellout though
"surrender earth or we destroy everything" -combine
OPTION A:
"lol no" breen
Earth is ded
OPTION B
"lol ok" breen
Half Life 2 takes place
Breen is a pussy sellout
saving humanity from total annihilation and keeping most of everyone alive for 20 years makes you a sellout
saving humanity from total annihilation and keeping most of everyone alive for 20 years makes you a sellout
True, but in the end he was only delaying what would've been inevitable(humanity's total extinction and Earth made virtually uninhabitable) if GMAN and Gordon Freeman hadn't intervened. The Combine probably would've done away with Breen eventually as well.
this is a really stupid argument
How is it a stupid argument? Gameplay and story don't have to be completely separate, and it seems like you're refusing a solution that satisfies both gameplay and story? I don't see the problem. Is it designed for gameplay? Yes. Can a reason for this gameplay choice translate into the story? Yes, and the (most reasonable) solution is that the HEV Suit has exoskeleton properties. After seeing what the HEV Suit can do, it being part exoskeleton doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility.

Last time I checked, Gordon didn't have a backpack or holsters to carry all those weapons, or multiple arms. I would imagine you would have not much room to carry a rpg, smg, crowbar, pistol, ar2, and such.
