Because the bandit clans in the main game weren't enough. Of all the DLC's that could work, they could have done much better than this. I'll pass until I see more, or I decide that RAGE is worth playing again.
A little late, don't you think, Id? Eh, if other people like it I might try. All this talk about Rage almost makes me want to play it again, anyways...
This is a bit weird, making dlc for a game that's a year old and has lost interest in the general public. Though I still want to play it.

i liked rage, but i guess i liked it because i bought it for like 15$ or 10$ on last year xmas sales and they fixed most driver/texture problems by that time.
Totally gonna buy this + RAGE on the christmas sale.
I got RAGE for £2 a while back. I still want my fucking £2 back

NEW RAGE DLC FUCK YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAA- wait, what?
Too little too late.
I might get this, maybe, I restarted the game last week, I'm not sure I want to lose that progress to go through the whole beginning again for so little.
Rage was simple and decent shooter that could've had more (and the final fight/ending could've been much better.) A lot of things in it could've been better, but at the same time it wasn't too bad. I think instead of releasing little-too-late DLC, id should focus on a sequel to expand upon the first installment in what it lacked, what was good about it, and what it desperately needed. Come on, id, making a simple shooter with a simple story shouldn't be hard to do.
I think Rage could have been improved a lot if they just let you customize your character. I mean, the player character is an Ageless-Faceless-Gender-Neutral-Culturally-Ambiguous-Adventure-Person, anyways, why not let us customize the guy a little? That should be done for the sequel, if there is one, given the ending.
You choose what armor set you want at the beginning and they each have different skill boosts.
And that's it. You can't switch armors, there aren't more armors, you can't change your face, you can't change your gender. Hell, those last two should have been a given what with this being an RPG (kinda) and the fact that your character has no name or personality, but nope.

Did anyone here get this? I'm curious what it is like. Since it looks like it is essentially just a new clan I don't expect it be too different from the base game. I liked Rage quite a bit and will probably pick this DLC up in the winter sales if it gets discounted, if not I'll probably get it next time I feel like doing a playthrough.
I did, gonna download the game again over night though.
I loved Rage. It just got that id feel to it, kinda like when I first played Doom. Sure the graphics are meh compared to what they are supposed to be, but who the fuck plays a game for graphics.
yeah and being able to pick-up weapons would have been nice
I want a M1911 in post apoc world is that too much to ask for? [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] The enemies have tons of them, how come I'm stuck with a shitty revolver??
So is the DLC like, you know, any good?
Its a damn shame the game does not run on a 5830HD. I get 1fps after the opening cut scene...
I got RAGE for £2 a while back. I still want my fucking £2 back
Exageration at its finest.
Its a damn shame the game does not run on a 5830HD. I get 1fps after the opening cut scene...
I couldn't even move after the opening cut-scene on a 4870, and I've upgraded to a 6870 but since then... I've honestly been too lazy to download it.
Since there isn't much discussion here and I am yet to hear anything about the DLC to decided to do a quick search for some reviews. Unsurprisingly I only find 2 from some sites I've never heard of. Better than nothing though. 4/5 - http://www.hiddenaudiolog.com/2012/12/review-rage-scorchers-dlc.html http://thecontrolleronline.com/2012/12/rage-the-scorchers-dlc-review/ Based on the reviews it sounds like it is okay and for the price it is worthwhile if you're a fan of the original game. The review from hiddenaudiolog states however that the new missions will probably take you only two hours to finish. This doesn't bother me too much as it is kind of what I expected but I could understand why it would turn some people away.
