• Thoughts on purposeful scarring?

Well, the kitten I rescued and looked after for 6 months got hit today. I decided that I would try and make the last cut she gave me into a scar. I looked up how to and saw someone getting loads of abuse. So guys, what are your thoughts? Also, if you have any idea how to make it scar better please help out - I already picked off the scab, reopened it and put salt on it, it's only little so anything to get it to scar. As somebody who has actual problems with self-abusing, I'm insulted and disgusted.
It's not for fashion you cunt. I suffer from major depression and when this kitten turned up at my door 6 months ago, starving and ill I had to care for it, my family and i put a lot of work into looking after it and taming it. Looking after this kitten was integral to keeping me sane; it gave me something to focus on other than myself. I'm doing this because it acts as a memory. I want to be able to remember how much this little ball of fur helped me, and hope that the memory of her continues to help me. It's only small so I wanted to do that in-case it healed up too soon.
Couldn't you pour all that into looking after another kitten? Just saying, there are so many in need of homes.
Not here there isn't. I live in the middle of nowhere. Plus it just turned up in the kitchen one day, followed our other 2 in. There aren't any rescue centres here or anything. [editline]5th April 2013[/editline] Also, I don't think I could handle another one right now. I was even thinking about reverting to my plan C of working with animals. Seen as they've been able to help me out so much.
Sorry, I work at a cat sanctuary so I see a lot of neglect and stuff. Its always nice when I send one off to a good home so I always recommend it. Working with animals is hard, but very rewarding. I recommend it highly.
I personally wouldn't do it, and I think the idea of taking purposeful damage like that is pretty fuckin' stupid but that's just my opinion. You can find plenty of examples of stuff like that on the (EXTRM NSFW)BME Body Mod Blog(EXTRM NSFW)
