Why do they always refer Gabe as being "The Boss"?. Didn't they mention Gabe is not the "boss" of the company?

Gabe is the most not your boss if you get what I mean.
I wonder whats gonna come out of both Valve and Apple actually.

He's totally boss, yo.
I don't think Apple is as big a threat to Valve in the living room as they think they will be. They target somewhat different audiences.

And what happens when they decided to target on hardcore gamers? PC gaming anf Consoles will be wipe off the map if Apple make it Hip and cool for casuals to play MAC games.

Thats only if they love to pay twice as much for hardware and essentially have "the PS3 of desktops".
I dunno I think the biggest threat to the steam box is the current generation of consoles. If you're looking to just play some new games (with a bit worse graphics) you can just pick up an xbox 360/ps3 and a ton of games for the same price as the steam box (this goes for things like the OUYA too).
I'm more interested about how Microsoft and Sony are gonna try and convince people to upgrade and how enticing it is.

gabe is the boss of valve he just refuses to use his boss powers on his employees

You make me laugh.
It's simple, we kill the Apple

They won't make any consoles due to the failure of Apple Pipin at which lost to Atari Jaguar.

He is the CEO and is running the company, but he is not the one who tells you what you should work on.

I've only got a Mac right now, and I've been playing Borderland 2, CS:GO, Splinter Cell, GTA.
Mac games don't always mean casual indie games.

What's more indie than GTA ROFL

he's legally the boss.
Apple's a threat to the Steam Box because they're probably going to try and Patent the phrase "Steam Box"

I don't think he's completely focusing on gaming in his comments. He's saying he wants PCs in the living room to be a common place thing, whatever you're using it for, and hopes he gets there before Apple has all the territory.

I think Valve could win a majority by having the price a little cheaper.
Also, I tried playing Touhou on the windows part of the mac's at my school, it's weird to play when it drops 5 - 10 frames.

They will patent the square for their new innovative designs.
But Apple doesn't even have enough games that support their OS.

Mac gaming is on the rise though. More publishers are becoming interested, largely helped out by steam being available on Mac now.
I think it's silly that Apple is being viewed as a "threat" though. Most Mac gamers use steam, and I couldn't imagine apple making a living room gaming push leaving behind steam and only using the App store.
There's a lot of games that are on the Mac App Store though

He's the de facto boss.
I can see mac dominating the lounge room media center market with their apple tv range being pretty popular, but in gaming terms I really can't

You heard it right here, guys. Time to close your Steam accounts and start playing some Farmville and Angry Birds.
Yeah it pisses me off because my friend has a Mac and we can't play anything together and he refuses to get a PC or use Boot Camp and constantly complains about me not playing stuff with him.
I lol at all the comments on shacknews whining about HL3.
Idiots.
