I just hope they update Hammer and other tools
They better it still looks the same from the first release in the 90's.
Wait, does that mean... That I can play mods without having the base game?
Wait, does that mean... That I can play mods without having the base game?
mods that require specific content likely will still not launch. most mods require ownership of HL2
Wait, does that mean... That I can play mods without having the base game?
Things like the mods offered through Steam use their own content, so they wont need a base game. Mods like Zombie Master still need base games like Half-Life 2.
Wait, does that mean... That I can play mods without having the base game?
There will probably be a specific amount of content that's included with this free SDK. Might be all the content from HL2, might not. But much of what matters is the source code. Many more people can make models, textures, sounds, etc. but not everyone (such as myself) can understand coding; which I think is the main point of this SDK release.
Free use of Source SDK, this could mean we are one step closer to being able to put Mac support on our Source mods as well as upgrade the engine these mods were using to the engine used in Valve's popular games like CS, HL2 and even TF2
