• Can't Close WMP

Ok so I have had Windows 7 since it has come out and never had a problem. I keep getting windows troubleshooting support or something like that telling me my media files are corrupt. I usually can't be arsed with that sort of windows crap so I went to the task manager and ended WMP Process. All fine but before I even closed the task manager it poped up again. Is there no way to close WMP and keep it closed? Or fix the corrupt media problem. This is getting a big problem now as it inturupets my gaming and minimises games.
Any chance you have a wrapper for it? Third party program/keyboard support?
Not sure what that is, please explain. [editline]03:05PM[/editline] Oh I think I get it, it might be my G15 Keyboard which tells me what media is playing on WMP. But that shouldn't force it to be open all the time should it?
Yeah it's your G15. It keeps the exe open at all times.
thanks for that, I turned the media display off on the LCD Display settings then closed WMP and it didn't reopen :)
Its the service "Windows SideShow" that's keeping windows media player open. Click Start. In the Search field, type gpedit.msc and press Enter. On the left pane, go to Configuration\Administrative Templates\ Windows Components\ Windows SideShow. On the right pane, double click Turn off Windows SideShow. Then your looking to ENABLE not Disable. Thats not a spelling mistake. Enable the "Turn off" then apply, ok and that should be it.
