• Network cannot be set to "Auto Negotiation"

A while back, a random problem emerged on my computer. The network would turn on and off and on again every 3 seconds or so, (hey icon in the system tray would go from the normal, to the "error" symbol, back to normal). I narrowed down the problem to the speed and duplex settings. By default it's set to "Auto Negotiation," I had to change it to 10mbps Full Duplex for my internet to work. Is there a fix for this to where I can set it back to auto-negotiation? Or perhaps even 100mbps Full Duplex (I've had someone tell me it's smoother)?
You can only toggle it to only 10 megabit? That does not sound right.
You can only toggle it to only 10 megabit? That does not sound right.
Yep, and it's NOT right. I feel that it's affecting my connection speed and ping pretty bad. Even though I have a 1.2 Mb/s internet connection.
You sure that's your actual connection speed? 10 megabits is exactly 1,25 megabytes a second.

8 bits in 1 byte 1,2 megabytes = 9,6 megabits
Have you tried using a different Ethernet cable or try a different router/switch?
