If I were you I'd be looking at a nice (not cheap) monitor, but do a lot of research into them first. Then get a relatively cheap build for your applications.

$382 before shipping for the computer. I suggest going to a local store for a monitor; If you get a monitor from Newegg, you have to ship it back if their's dead pixels. This happened to me twice. comp -> https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=13175072 You should go to the store to get an idea for what sized monitor you want. This is a good deal for a 22 inch at staples - http://www.staples.com/Acer-H213Hbmid-22-Widescreen-LCD-Monitor/product_788498?cmArea=SEARCH Also, anything else you'll be doing with it? Like games?
Oh and by the way I was referring to the more expensive panel technologies such as IPS, as opposed to TN for cheaper screens. drummer I can't see that build
You want IPS, but it's expensive. [editline]01:44AM[/editline]
$382 before shipping for the computer.
https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=13175072
Your wish lists don't work.

Looks okay but perhaps get a nicer power supply because you're going to get something far from spectacular for $30.
I mean I get where you come from with power supplies, but this isn't high demand stuff. At most it'll be taking 160 or 170 watts.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151073 I'm no expert on monitors. I strongly suggest you do your own research into a monitor, and also ask around forums that specialise in monitors (I'm sure you'll find some).

I can't see that. You'll need to take picture of it, or I think you could perhaps put it in a wish list.
How about now?
How about now?
Yep. Looks ok to me, other than my personal preference of the Seasonic PSU.

Just remember that the above recommendations will eventually become obsolete, so depending on how long you save up you may need to redo it.
Hate to break it to you, but you can't do photography with a computer. What you need, is a camera.

How long would you say before it becomes obsolete?
If you're not going to buy in the next few weeks you should come back and get it revised, the prices / deals on Newegg change fairly quickly.
in terms of becoming obsolete, I don't think it would in the near future. You can't really predict when it will become obsolete, but programs today are just starting to take advantage of having multiple cores. If your just doing photo editing, It's not that big of a task. I got you a full quad core processor. Also, If programs start requiring more ram, just buy another 2 gb stick of ddr3 1333mhz and you're set. If you wanted I could get you a better graphics card but you wouldn't need it.
To be 100% honest, if this is SERIOUS photography, this is a very rare occasion in which I'd probably recommend a Macbook pro. Incoming shitstorm, but they were made for Photography and graphic editing.
macks maek you betterer at art?
No, but they have much better and smoother programs for art editing/importing.
doesnt stop him from using anything else
except maybe common sense when it comes to handling money
I can re-use keyboard and mouse, and already have an OS. So please, help me build a cheap, good, computer.
