So here's my situation: I'm currently taking A-Levels and my last exam is on Monday next week (27th) It's the hardest exam I will have so far, because I really struggle with some of the topics Fine, I can deal with that... It just so happens that my grandfather passed away a few days ago, and the funeral is being held on Friday Okay, no biggie? Just go for the main service then get back to revision? No such luck, I live 2 hours drive from his area. Basically, going would mean no revision that day (because I can't study while driving, or after for that matter because the journey always tires me out) Tomorrow I have little time to revise for the Monday exam, because I have a different exam. That would leave two days free to revise fully Basically my method is usually to revise in the weeks leading up to the exam (which I did) then go hardcore for the days leading up to the exam, but the funeral will remove one of those 3 days available My relationship with him: Now before you start calling me a bastard there are a few things to consider. I've barely spoken to this guy and he's not my biological grandfather either (My mothers step-dad). The most he's said to me is "aiiggh" (He's a farmer), or at least not a proper conversation. It's also putting at risk my place in university, this year being one of the toughest due to lack of space and high competition due to rising fees Still, my mother insists I go and tries everything to make me feel bad about not going. And I would feel bad about not going, but I'd also feel bad if I didn't make it into university. My step-dad is also doing the same. Luckily my dad is awesome, and he's backing me up. So, what would you do in my situation? Funeral or secure that final exam grade? I feel terrible about even considering not going, but I just don't know what to do! Sorry for the rant
